We mustn’t skip over the genealogies in Scripture, for they are filled with often-untapped theological riches. In this sermon, R.C. Sproul continues his series in the gospel of Luke, examining how Luke’s detailed genealogy of Jesus reveals Him to be the Redeemer of Jews and gentiles alike.

Matthew 7:8

For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

Salvation is by Jesus alone, his blood sacrifice on the cross, and atonement, available to all mankind, when they believe.
Each man, woman, and girl and boy, at the age of accountability, must take responsibility, after hearing the world and being convicted by the holy spirit, to accept it or reject it, and God has given all man that basic ability, to humble themselves, through his grace, and soul conscious creation in mankind, and accept Jesus Christ as savior, to break spiritual deadness, because he is the way, truth and the life.
Faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the word of God.

The lengthy genealogy is ours as well as theirs...

"we must follow what's in the text",
'original text', the Lord name is Yeshua.

Jesus was from the tribe of Judah. Herod was from the tribe of Edom. The king of Israel cannot be from any other tribe except Judah. So when Jesus was being crucified he was actually the correct king lineagee wise.
That wasn't an accident.

The notion that the apostles shaped the genealogies to "fit" the intended audience is another way to imply that the apostles lied. It's a shame that RC Sproul is so authoritatively wrong on several points. I had high hopes for his teaching since he has such a good spirit. But I thank God for YourTuber NathanH83 and his videos "The two Genealogies of Jesus: According to Eusibius" and "The Curse of Jeconiah" Those two videos provide a more biblical and God glorifying answer to the mystery of the dual Genealogies of Jesus.

Why did GOD allow all this violence, hate, murderous and vile behavior, which cause so much pain hurt, and dispair to occur, KNOWING that this was all going to happen?

Paul wrote Hebrews because he spoke of Timothy, which no other writers never mentioned him... And yes, christians can lose their salvation.. That's what the falling away is in the end days... Falling denotes you were standing for awhile, but then fell...

Apologists for the conflicting genealogies of Jesus presented by (Mathew 1:1-17) and (Luke 3:23-38) have made the argument that the intentions of Mathew and Luke were never to present an accurate record of Jesus's family line but to TELL A STORY.

Luke wanted to show that the line of Jesus encompassed all of humanity thus went all the way back to Adam.
Mathew wanted to underscore the nobility of Jesus so his genealogy emphasized royal associations.

These apologists admit (without apology) that both genealogies are pure fiction invented off the cuff to make a point totally unrelated to the universally understood purpose for a genealogy which is to present a record of a person's ancestry.

This creative twisting of reality is another reason why it is so difficult (impossible) for an ordinary person to interpret the Bible's message.

The Bible was written by dozens of people with differing perspectives, levels of education, and psychological balance, all of which must be understood by the reader to grasp the message they are attempting to convey. The Bible was not written by a single God who wanted to convey a cohesive message representing a single perspective.

This is very disappointing. First of all Jesus and the Jews/Israelis lived in Israel. Palestine was a name given by the Romans later and sadly this has been also one of the reasons Christians have become antisemitic at some point and we have this issue of Palestinians (yes, indeed on that territory lived Jews and Arabs and Gentiles of all sorts). Second, Chuck Missler has an even better approach and explains the meaning of all the names in the genealogy of Jesus which basically shows God's plan to save humanity and the meaning of all names practically preach the Gospel. Sproul seems academic but not really saying much, in my opinion.
