Today we’re headed to Maine which as you may know has been dubbed Vacationland and for good reason. As that’ exactly what our subjects headed there to do during one summer almost 50 years ago. Their story has been called the Allagash Abduction incident and it is perhaps one of the more famous stories of a first hand Alien encounter to ever occur in The United States.

It's funny to me when someone suggests a story was invented for "fame and money", have you actually seen what happens to people who claim to be abducted? Fame and money are NOT on the list, lol

Unsolved Mysteries was the first time I heard of Aliens and UFOs from the Area 51 episode. Which started my long curiosity of Aliens and UFOs. I also remember this particular story from Unsolved Mysteries when I was younger too. This was the first time that I heard of the term "lost time" used in the UFO community.

I’m 67. When I was 8yrs old my daddy came home from work with an incredible story…he was white as a sheet-and nothing was ever the same. He constantly searched and investigated. I love and dearly miss my daddy…

I grew up in this area. One night in the late 80s my father took me camping to go hunting when I was 12. He had a camper. In the middle of the night his snoring woke me up, and as I was laying in the top bunk, the whole damn camper starts shaking and there was a loud constant rumble right above us. It sounded like 5 feet above the camper.

It lasted maybe 2 minutes, and I was so scared I was literally frozen stiff. I could only make pathetic whimpering noises at first, but I finally tried yelling to wake my father up, and he did right at the end of it. He only heard it for a second or two though and said it must’ve been a plane. I remember arguing with him telling him there was no way that was a plane, but he thought I had exaggerated it in my mind.

Decades later I still know for sure that was no damn plane. I don’t know what it was, but it wasn’t that.

You know it would be my luck to be abducted and then returned to the wrong planet.

New Zealander here. About February 2018, I was staying at my ex-wife's house close to Tauranga (on middle right hand side of the North Island) in Papamoa.. The house is about 350 metres, 3 blocks from the beach and Surf Lifesaving Club, and one block west from the main road and a large shopping area.
I woke up about 3am and, as I sometimes do, I went outside onto the lawn, to looked at the night sky, briefly. The moon was out, to the west, I think, but I cannot remember its phase. After a few minutes, I turned to go back inside. I was now facing north, towards the Papamoa Hills Regional Park, about 1600 metres (a mile) away. The hills are about 100-200 metres (300 to 600 feet) tall above sea level. At the foot of the hills is the old main road from Tauranga to Rotorua. The base of the hills are about 50 metres above sealevel and there is a long gradual slope down to the beach. My ex- wife's house is about one metre above sealevel but there are tall dunes right by the beach. The new toll highway and overpass, is about 500 metres from the base of the Papamoa Hills, or about 1000 metres (a kilometre) from where I was standing.
So, I turned to the north, facing towards the hills, to go back inside, just as somewhere between me and the hills, a large, yellowish ball of light, flying in a low straight line, emerged into view from behind the roof the house, catching my attention. A second later, it was obscured by a neighbour's trees, then a few seconds later, still on the same flat, level trajectory, it emerged from behind those trees and crossed an open space, above houses further down the street. It took about five seconds to cross the space, before my view of it was again blocked by trees, much further down the street, and on my left hand side. The whole sighting from start to finish was about 15 seconds. It was a single, large ball of light. The light was dull, not bright. I did not see any souperstructure that the light wasattached to, it was just a large, completely silent dull yellow ball of light.
I know it was far away from me, because none of the rooftops or treetops near me were illuminated by it. Equally, I knew it was not close to the Papamoa Hills because it was lower than the hills but did not illuminate the steep hillside nearest me., 1600 metres, ( one mile) away.
The next day, standind on the same spot on the lawn, I established where on the silhoette of the house that I first saw it emerge from behind the house and where I lost sight of it behind trees further down the street hill.
I confirmed for myself that:
a) it was much lower than the tops of the Papamoa Hills,
b) it was travelling from the east to the west, and
c) there is no road on the Papamoa Hills, visible from where I stood, that could have been the source of the light
I knew it was not an aircraft or drone because:
a) the light was quite large and shone continuously, a dull yellow ball, that did not flash like small, bright aircraft lights
b) although close to Tauranga Airport, no flights arrive or leave from there after 11 pm
c) the flight path that the light flew is never used by aircraft approaching or leaving Tauranga airport
d) I have seen helicopters flying in that area before, from a different and at a greater distance, and the engine noise was very noticeable. I can remember seeing aircraft large and small from a comparable distance but, again, engine noise was noticeable.
e) the object I saw was large ball of dull yellow light, not at all like tiny bright lights on a drone.
While I cannot give any accurate dimension for the BOL, because I was not close enough, but, based on the information above, it could have been anywhere from the size of a bus down to a meter (31 inches) in diameter. After it passed out of sight, I stayed, looking to the west, towards Rotorua for acouple of minutes, but it must have stayed on the same low, flat flightpath, because I did not see it again.

It must be horrendous going through something like that. I've read that Travis Walton also said at one point, "it didn't happen" just to get people to leave him alone. I've always believed them and they all have my greatest wishes and support. 🙏

You’re good. There’s story tellers and then there’s story tellers. You’re a great story teller. This was excellent!!

I love how skeptics go to is, "oh they did it for the money"...yeah because there's many abductees who are millionaires or billionaires. 🙄

In a way, I feel badly for Chuck.
Ultimately, whatever happened that night, affected him in profound ways that have adversely affected his entire life in ways that it did not affect the other three men.
Why?
As in many cases of what is essentially PTSD, whether it be related to a vehicle accident, robbery, alien abduction, and the list goes on, there is always going to be a percentage of the people involved in it that simply can't mentally and/or emotionally tolerate what happened to them resulting in some type of denial, dependence upon drugs and/or alcohol, or causes them to have a complete mental breakdown.
Chuck knows EXACTLY what happened that night yet, for whatever reason, he is choosing to deny that it ever happened.
It's sad that he has seemingly lost three lifelong friends because of it. 😢

This is exactly what I saw years back at 5:00. I saw an orb of light floating in the air before it completely moved into the horizon without any acceleration at all, really blew my mind. Everyday I look at the sky in hope to catch it again...
