I miss seeing Abby play so much, particularly the way she and Alex played together. They worked so well together and had great chemistry on the field. I also miss Lauren Holiday because she was so good and she had a lot of the same effect on the team that Abby did. I know there is a really good chance that the team will win Gold in Rio, but it won't be the same with so many players from the World Cup gone now. I just don't feel the same excitement and joy when they score goals or even with the team dynamic. I really believe that the main missing piece is Abby. Even though her skills had diminished over the last year or two, her leadership and excitement for the game were still there, and the rest of the team fed off of her personality. I know she will do great things now that she's retired, but she will be forever missed.
