It’s very important to digest your food well because only well digested food will be properly assimilated and your body will get all essential nutrients.

But, there are some important rules you need to follow for your body to be able to digest your food well and maintain overall health & wellbeing. A few of them are :

1. Chew your food properly. So that your stomach doesn’t have to work much to break it down. Your mouth is well equipped with the teeth that’s supposed to do the initial breaking of food. Plus you may get that sharp jawline if you chew well!!

2. Eat Healthy food. Unhealthy food will not disrupt your gut flora and lead to unwanted digestive issues. Eat clean & healthy. Avoid processed food.

3. Eat what “suits” your body. What suits me or any other person may or may not suit your body. Every individual has a unique body and you have to make sure you aren’t eating something that’s working against your body. It needs an expert assistance to figure this out. So, go see your nutritionist.

4. Finish all your meals by sunset. It may sound unimportant or illogical but I would say better try it for yourself for a period of atleast 30 days and then see for yourself.

5. Sleep well. That’s when your body is working to digest your food and eliminate all toxins from your body. Give it the time it needs to do that job. Ideally. Sleep atleast 7-9 hours at night.

6. Mindful Eating. No TV or phone or talking or any kind of distraction while eating. Your entire focus should be on what a lovely meal you’re eating and what a peaceful and amazing experience it is to be able to taste the food and savour it!

7. Workout. Workout. Workout. Move your Body please! Lift weights or do yoga or Pilates. My favourite will always be strength training or yoga if your age doesn’t allow weight lifting.
