Satire, nineteen-aught-style. If you invite an old army man to dinner, and then invite him to tell war stories, you'd better look after the china. A one-set film ought not, strictly speaking, to be cinema, but no other medium could encompass the politesse, the boredom of the anecdotage, and then the cosmic chaos which ensues. Love it!
