He only felt the withdraw when he uses the mangekyo sharingan so he could see perfectly during the match. Sasuke had time to rest and was healed by the time he was transported to fight danzo. Plus Danzo is an old man older than the age the 3rd said he would no longer be fit to be hokage so he was way past his prime and even he would have ended the fight with kotoamatsukami if nobody was there to save sasuke.

Danzo shimura... the most human character of naruto's world. To me he represents most of human beings. Stuck in our own ways like it was the only good one. Danzo was a honorable shinobi at start but let his jealousy/ambition pale his noble intentions. RIP danzo
