This is the final video in the 4-part series covering the renovation of my friend's rental property.
You've already seen me make several pieces of furniture for it in previous videos, but in this one you'll see steps we took to give the room a complete overhaul. New bump-out, new floor, new crown, and more! Watch until the end to see the amazing "Before" and "After" shots that show the incredible transformation that this room received.

Check out the AirBnB listing for the property!

That room looks so much better with the modern touches! I will be delivering a sawmill to a customer in Bellaire Monday morning. I may try to rent the room and see it first hand. Nice work Drew 👍

10:45 'Pride and dignity' filler putty. Yep, used it many a time on my own projects! That's a handy caulking tube size you got there. I usually just use a putty scraper to collect the tears from my face, the sweat from my brow, and mix well with the dust from my crushed dreams of perfection. 🤣

That bump out is an awesome idea, and it came out awesome, Drew, well done!
15:09 Best place to sit and relax. Must have been a tough job getting the toilet hooked up in that spot 😄

The toilet with a view and the lamp for ambience! I'd like to see a video on how that was accomplished! :) Nice work as always Drew!!

Interesting crown mold cutting technique. I've installed thousands of feet of the stuff, around cabinet uppers is where a lot of it went. I use the fence much like you did, only I flip the crown upside down, that make the fence like the vertical wall. Then you don't have to adjust the saw bevel, it will always be in the "0" position (normal). The you cut miters as usual, using the 45 degree detentes. Getting your head wrapped around the upside down part takes a little mental adjustment but a pencil mark showing the cut direction helps a bunch.

Always love your videos. I'm a carpenter (trim for 15 years, but we always have to jump back into the rest from time to time) and a more amateur woodworker, I'm sure. First, I love the saw you're using - they're the best. Not really criticisms, but I want to say. I've don't believe I've ever seen someone cut crown that way. Obviously, as you proved, it works. But if you flip it over (upside-down), you can cut either end by just changing the miter angle instead of the bigger hassle of flipping the saw over for the bevel angles. Also, you can leave the saw's fences tight for better support instead of spreading them out of the way of the blade.
Then, the wood "sub-fence" stuck to the saw base is smart. At least for the Dewalt saws, though, they make inexpensive crown stops that bolt into the tapped holes in the saw. Adjustable for different sizes and reusable without any cleanup.

Fantastic job, Drew~! I really like the bump out. I like that little trick you showed for doing the crown molding. I've not yet taken that on, but I'll remember your little "cheat" for when I do.
