I still like how they made Tyrannosaurus Rex in Meg 2: The Trench similar to the incarnation of Tyrannosaurus Rex from Jurassic Park.

Megalodons did not live with the dinosaurs like T-Rex at the same time.

You see, Based on the movie, the title says "Cretaceous Period, 65 million years" that is where T-Rex lives. But Megalodons on the other hand, they lived in Miocene and Pliocene 23 to 3.6 million years ago. That's after the dinosaurs have been disappeared from the earth.

So the battle between these two prehistoric giants did not really happen.

I wouldn't call this a Tyrannosaurus Rex, since this is taking place in Late Cretaceous China, and Tyrannosaurus Rex only existed in North America at only about 68 to 66 million years ago.
Instead, I would rather call this large theropod in the opening scene a Zhuchengtyrannus, which Is native to China.
