What are the arguments of not wearing masks? Like a legitimate reason that is backed up by facts and not just "its impeding my rights and freedom." Because your freedom means more than nothing when you are on a ventilator fighting for your life.

Healthy kids are at almost zero risk of severe COVID. The majority of those in the hospitals are older, obese, heavy smokers/drinkers, etc. Masks can be helpful in preventing transmission. But consider now that all kids 5 and over are eligible for the vaccine, who are already low risk. Do we really want kids to wear masks for the rest of their lives? It’s having a clear effect on their learning in schools and psychological development. You have to look at it from a pros and cons perspective.

Civil and political rights are a class of rights that protect individuals' freedom from infringement by governments, social organizations, and private individuals. If anything forcing people to wear masks violates civil rights and individual freedom. People can still wear them if they choose too. It’s their right!
