This Morning's Holly Willoughby emotionally addresses viewers about Phillip Schofield

Holly Willoughby gave a highly-anticipated statement about Phillip Schofield following her return to This Morning on Monday morning.

The star finally returned to the show after her extended half-term break, following the revelations that Schofield had been having an affair with a younger male colleague.

The 42-year-old appeared nervous, her voice shook and she was visibly emotional as she addressed viewers.

Phillip sensationally quit This Morning after 21 years amid rumours of a feud between him and co-star Holly following a "difficult few days" and his brother's court case.

However, in a shocking turn of events, the 61-year-old then parted ways from ITV completely - including from his presenting roles on Dancing On Ice and the British Soap Awards - after he admitted to lying about an affair he had with a much younger male colleague.

I felt shaken and slightly cold after Holly’s little act this morning. Firstly I didn’t realise Phil had changed his pronouns to they/them. It was cold and heartless towards someone who was her friend and I don’t think i would want to have a friend who is so unforgiving and self obsessed. She's doing the same old Holly schtick (with a baby voice🙄) and it bothers me watching her do it. She's not stupid, she knew exactly what was going on, that's why she left Schofield's agency in 2020 when he "came out". Now she's playing all innocent just to save her skin, it's so obvious.
ITV should pause her from the show, freshen up the format and come back with something and someone else in order to be able to leave this sordid chapter behind.
