Scott and Sharon Goedeke are thankful for every minute they have together and with their three daughters. They are grateful for a life filled with love and happiness, and they even find ways to be grateful when facing life-threatening health problems.

“When we learned about the diagnosis, it’s incredibly frightening. It made us even tighter,” said Scott.

Scott has melanoma, an aggressive skin cancer that spreads to other parts of the body. Scott’s cancer is a rare, aggressive type of melanoma.

“Scott has been able to try several different treatment protocols. Immunotherapy and most recently was TIL therapy,” said Sharon.

Tumor Infiltrating Lymphocytes, or TILs, are a type of T-cell, your body's own immune cells, that can recognize tumors. For TIL therapy, billions more T-cells are created and activated in the fight.

Scott received the treatment at Siteman Cancer Center in St. Louis. Soon after, he became part of the 30% of melanoma patients who respond with good outcomes.
