Which form of Memory do you like???
TheAverageTechGuy
As discussed later. You will need a power hub to provide the additional power required to work the Sandisk 1TB and bigger. I used the Sabrent usb power supply discussed later in the thread and it worked fine. Thank you all.

I've seen several good questions on here and not 1 reply from average tech guy. Very frustrating.

I’m using the same set up but still get the message: “Cannot use accessory. Extreme SSD: This accessory requires too much power.”. I’m plugged into mains via the lightning port and have the 2TB Extreme Pro SSD attached to the USB port.

Awesome!!! This makes the ipad an almost stand alone device.

I wish I would have watched this before getting a 3rd party adapter smh... Now headed to Apple. Thanks ✊🏽

Just a heads up - this doesn't work with the 2TB Sandisk Extreme SSD on an iPhone for some reason. Seems to work on an iPad. No idea why. No power consumption warning. Tried reformatting the SSD too. No workie. Guys at apple store stumped too. I've read it works with a powered USB Hub. Maybe need a smaller SSD? weird that 500gig works & 2TB doesn't.

I copied everything you did but my sandisk extreme doesn’t show up on my iPhone 11 Pro Max. I talked to Apple support and they just swapped out the camera adapter but it still doesn’t work. Do you have to have an app in order for it to work?please advise. Thank you

Can i transfer pictures from my iphone to the ssd?

Super helpful! Didn't know the official apple usb camera kit 3 adapter was needed! Annoyed that I wasted money on a third party adapter

I did eveything but what kind of power source did you use? I’m using a iPhone 12 it tells me this accessory requires too much power

I heard that when people use SanDisk portable SSD to connect to iPad and use it for long time, the portable SSD might get hot and it’s no longer read and write. So be aware of that.

I know this is an older video but have you ever seen the code " Cannot use Accessory" Extreme 55AE: This accessory requires too much power. Everything is plugged up correctly. Cannot seem to get photos transferred to either laptop or the same sandisk you are using.

None of these seem to help me. I have the iPhone 13 and i need to move photos from my iPhone to the Scanddisk iDiskk external hard drive.

Nice job. I have all the correct dongles but my iOS 13 iPhone Xs can’t find the SanDisk Extreme. It works on my iPad. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I love how you have JW library app. Rock on brother!

For Sandisk 1 Tb it didn’t work. But them accidentally i found that after i connect it and wait for about 2 minutes - it appears in the Files (iphone). I’m using a third party adapter ith audio input. Let me know if it works for you too
