Hi having trouble searching for an answer to an exercise i am working on.
There is a roof scuttle that will be attached with a 3/8 inch bolt. I need the conversion but mathematically.

for instance,

a number 3/8 bolt for a roof scuttle is
a. 6  b. 8   c.10  d.12

the answer to the practice exercise is d. 12

Need to know how to get that number mathematically.

You help is well appreciated.

How can I approach this

Two identical jug each contains some juice
* ratio of juice in 1st jug to juice in 2nd jug 5:3
* If mo pours 170ml juice from 2nd jug to 1st jug then jug would be full
* Instead he pours 630ml juice from 1st jug to 2nd jug then jug would be full
* What is the capacity of each jug
