Trump Signs Deal To Clear Path For Nintendo Switch 2

In a sudden - almost out of the blue, high-stakes pivot move, President Donald Trump has announced a sweeping rollback of tariffs—an unexpected move that might have just cleared the path for the long-anticipated launch of the Nintendo Switch 2 in the United States... and Canada for that matter too.

For days, the gaming community has been .... a tad on edge after Nintendo of Japan stated they were pausing U.S. preorders for the Switch successor, citing "uncertainty" around Trump’s escalating tariff policy. The situation appeared even more dire when country-specific import duties reached upwards of 46% for some regions, threatening to jack up the launch price of the new console—or delay it entirely. It could have theoretically cost $750 or more... just for the console!

It's wild how stark the differences are between Reggie and Doug, despite having similar resumes. They both used to work for Procter & Gamble, and they both used to be VP of sales and marketing for Nintendo. Both of them are businessmen first and foremost, but Reggie had a genuine passion for Nintendo and cared about having a good relationship with the fans. Doug only seems to care about the profit aspect.

The problem is when companies raise their prices, they don't usually decrease them even if the economy improves..it's BS.

That Doug Bouser really does remind everyone of the Xbox one debacle. Saying that buy the old switch if you can’t get the new switch is really gonna hurt them in the long run. Doug Bouser always seemed like a red flag when you look up that he used to work for EA, and he is a significant downgrade from Reggie.

I'm past this now. I was hyped a month ago. Then they had the direct and I started to lose interest because of the initial price of the games. Then I found out more information about the key card games and the locking of an actual button behind a paywall so I decided I'd wait a year or two.... Then Doug Bowser opened his mouth, so now I will not only not buy a new Switch 2, I'll wait two or three years, buy a used one, with used games, and Nintendo will get $0 from me and I'll still get a Switch 2.. Win-Win!
