Lecture 13 part 1 Basis of a vector space

We define the notion of a basis of a vector space, and give examples. Lecture 13 (video) accompanies Lecture Notes 13 (PDF).

This video accompanies a course taught at VCU, and is based on material presented in classes at both VCU and UC Davis. The source material for much of this video (and the other videos in this series) can be found in the textbooks "Introduction to Linear Algebra" by Gilbert Strang and "Elementary Linear Algebra" by Ron Larson. All errors and misconceptions are entirely my own. I highly recommend that students obtain both of these books for their studies.
