Of­ten the first flower bee­keep­ers no­tice in spring. If the con­di­tions are fa­vour­able, bees will be able to col­lect good early pol­len from these bushes. More of­ten than not, the catkins come and go without the bees ever be­ing able to ven­ture out of the hive.
