Today we are in the town of Jicayan de Tovar, in the Mixteca (indigenous peoples) zone in southern Mexico, between the states of Guanajuato and Guerrero.

For the past few years, my wife and I have been devoted to preaching the Word of God to the people of these towns not reached before. Even today, people suffer persecution when preaching the Word. Nevertheless, thanks to God, the Good News has spread in this location.

I tell you this because, in the years living here I have met a woman named Amalia Castillo. She is a widow who has 9 children, 6 of which currently live with her. A few years ago, due to the conflicts between people fighting over land, her husband was assassinated. She did not grow up in this region and her family lives far away. She is all alone here in this village. But she must live here to keep the right to live on her husband’s land. Since his death, she has struggled to survive. She heard the Word of God and became a believer in Jesus Christ. Thanks to God, she knows that God is her strength and her provision. And now, we continue trusting in Him to provide. However, during the rains and hurricane that took place last year affecting most of Mexico, she lost her home. God has put it in our hearts to do something about it so she can have a roof over her head and a life of dignity. This is why, I ask you, please, if God puts it in your heart, to help her as we are here to help her rebuild her home.
