Experience the precision of SpaceX as the Falcon 9 first stage booster B1085 successfully lands on the droneship 'A Shortfall of Gravitas' (ASOG) after delivering 22 Starlink satellites to low Earth orbit. This dramatic landing, following the Starlink 10-5 mission launched from Cape Canaveral on August 20, 2024, marks the 341st booster recovery for SpaceX.

This was the first flight for the B1085 booster, which will soon support NASA's Crew-9 mission. After a smooth descent, the booster’s landing was another testament to SpaceX's engineering prowess and commitment to reusability.

The mission faced an 80% chance of favorable weather, with concerns about cumulus and thick clouds, but everything aligned perfectly for a successful landing. Watch as SpaceX continues to set the standard in space exploration and rocket recovery.

No matter how many times you’ve seen it, it’s awesome every time you watch it!

Employees at SpaceX watched as this rocket landed itself, no one was pressing any buttons. Incredible

SpaceX should go with this kind of landing method with Starship . Catching the ship is a ridiculous idea. The margin of error is very small, they don't have enough control of the ship to accomplish it. They can very easily crash into the tower instead. Also, the control wings are not suitable for reentry to the atmosphere as was seen in the last test flight

Doesn't rocket fuel destroy the atmosphere? Kinda negates the effect of an e-vehicle. Where's the electric rocket? 😅

I will bet that when the contract with Boeing and Space X was let, the Boeing folks made complete fun of Space Xs plans as something that was impossible. Fast forward to the future, and history is written 😅.
