I feel like bmw is having a styling crisis at the moment, like trying to stand out way to much. It wasn’t bold design that made them popular. They should focus on what’s important to a BMW. For me there styling is very 50/50

I prefer the BMW design rather than yours. There's something about the light and air scoops in yours that makes it seem weird and the back on the normal BMW is better

Great redesign, although the 2 series did win best vehicle design of the year by an auto show in Europe I believe. I kinda like it.

Surely I'm not the only one who thinks this car looks good. I mean the proportions are larger but they are still good enough for the vehicle. The grill is in good proportion as well. This car still looks much better than the new 4 series, 7 series, i3, i4 and x7

The rear end makes it look like a SUV coupe or crossover. It's too big.

The "high" hood of recent cars are also due to pedestrian safety in case of crash, so there is more room between the hood and the engine and therefore, when a pedestrina is runned over and hits the bonnet, the impact is lower.

I understand what you're saying here. But it has a lot to do with marketing strategy. The 2 series gran coupé had to be different and more affordable than a 3 series for example. So ofcourse they choose different lines and headlight designs. They don't want it to look like a smaller copy of a 3 series. For several reasons.
