There's actually a Wired article titled "A Chaotic History of Clickolding, the Year’s Most Disturbing Game" that explains how this game came to be. The gist of it was that after GDC, a bunch of devs go to a thrift shop and buy something strange and that year they bought a clicker and all the devs started clicking and making sex jokes which inspired this game. The article is an interview with some of the people involved recounting the event.
