Deathly Hallows is my favorite! The sense of dread I felt when I read it was insane. For the first time, I felt like my childhood heroes could actually die, and that made the read such an emotional journey for me. But yeah loved your video!

I've been watching so many of these harry potter rankings recently and your video is SO good and your channel is so underrated. Thank you so much for making this video!

OotP is probably still my #1. I bought it the day it came out when I was 13, and finished it within eight hours. And then had a lovely dream in which Umbridge was eaten by rabid wolverines, lol! It just does a really good job of sucking me in completely. Grumpy Harry was a little annoying, but I was never in it for Harry.

GoF would be number two. I loved all the side plots that the movie decided to cut. And it's probably the one I reread the most.

The first three are very close together for me (probably because I read them all back-to-back in '99). I enjoy them all, but I definitely agree on the pacing issues. I remember even in book one wanting more elaboration on some things and less on others. If I have to pick one for the third spot, it would probably be PoA.

HBP for me was too much of a mixed bag. I enjoyed parts of it, but I felt that entirely too much time was spent on relationship drama. Which 16 year-old borderline asexual me found very off-putting.

And yeah, the interminable camping trip that took up half of DH dragged it straight to the bottom. I don't hate it, but I don't feel any urge to reread it anytime soon either.

Hp book ranking
I'm durning reading the Order of The Phoenix but for now i would rate the 4 books like this:
4. Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (It was quite boring, slow and it took me a bit more to read it than the other books, I love the plot of Voldy taking over Ginny doe)
3. Harry potter and the Philosopher's/Sorcerer's Stone (I enjoyed it, it was a great introduction and it had a great plot twist at the end, but I don't remember Harry casting a single spell, and the book is very very short :( )
2. Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (I enjoy the overall story, I like that Dumbledore finally hired a competent proffesor of DAtDA, I like that Sirius is Harry's godfather and the lenght is OK, but I prefer longer books, I don't like that Harry tries to literally choke Sirius, and I hate Pettigrew, so J.K. Rowling made a good job writing the character and we are supposed to hate him.
1. Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire ( I love the plot of Harry meeting and discovering magic from other parts of the world, I that they introduced more spells to us, I like the concept of the villain disguised as an auror, I also like that Crouch wasn't the clean person as he was appearing to be, MORE DOBBY, and I like the fact of Voldemort's return, the death eaters, and it was quite long.

Interesting video, I probably have the polar opposite political views to JK Rowling as I tend to be right leaning when it comes to economics/free market, but then I tend to be socially liberal (I support LGBTQ+ Community/movement)
I agree that grumpy Harry got annoying in 5 and it makes it harder to read, I also agree that Sirius Black was shown as quite flawed in 5, to the extent that he wouldn’t be in my top 10 characters (still using a childhood nickname as an adult to continue to try to bully someone who you tormented for years in school.)
Also a huge fan of the House of Gaunt, The Secret Riddle, etc. backstory in 6.
My ranking, starting from least favourite and ending with favourite goes;
5, 2, 1, 7, 3, 4, 6
I’m no CoS hater though, the movie is in my top 2.
