TPU 2.0 | TPU Tubes Have Levelled Up 🔥

TPU inner tubes are no longer new and are now well established in the cycling industry. Coming in at a very similar price, they are now even better with some removable valve core and a more solid aluminium alloy stem. keeping the weight close to 36g.

I reckon pink valve stems is a positive thing.
It helps you instantly spot the valve in the morning when you check the pressure or/and attach your track pump.
Cheers

On my road bike, I'll never go tubeless man. I just love how easy tubes are. It takes a minute or two to change tires, no faff, doesn't cover my bike with goo if I do get a puncture on a ride...the list goes on

I've been a RideNow TPU advocate for roughly 2yrs now and went through most of the +/- experiences you've mentioned. A difference is that my dud tubes had leaks at the tubes joining seam, which could never be patched. I now have the new ones with the red stems but luckily, I have a bike with red accents so they suit well. I've not used the new ones as I'm hesitant to replace the old type, as I've had on my wheels for a year now with only the usual slow leaks. Seems stupid to replace them just yet for aesthetic reasons.

Greatest innovation in wheel tech of the last decade for sureeee

Agree with others. Been using since May 2024 and they’ve been brilliant! Leak rate is comparable to butyl maybe ever so slightly faster and the metal valve is a game changer in terms of robustness.

I did not know this new version was out! I started with the black plastic valve ones, as you mentioned in a few occasions the valve had leaks, especially from the base for me. I have not had issues with the clear plastic valved ones, touch wood! Might try these next

I've been running the 'new' version for several months now. fitted it and forgot about it. 28c tyres (80 psi) rides an absolute dream on my Ribble Ultra SLR. I've exclusively rode RN TPU tubes on my Road bikes for well over a year now. No going back to buytl / tubeless.

- Unpopular opinion; I love the fact that the valves are bright pink and vibrant. Black is boring and dull

I made the mistake of using the older plastic valves tubes as backups for my gravel bike. When I flatted I swapped in the new tube and roughly 60 seconds later the valve broke in half and I had the opportunity to walk five miles back. No issues with the newer aluminum valves, the plastic valved ones are unfortunately sitting in a landfill.

You can replace the valve on the white RideNows also. Heat it up with a hair dryer, then hold the base with pliers + a piece of inner tube to protect it, and twist the valve off with your presta valve tool. Put the new valve on with glue or blue loctite and you are good. You have to use something to hold it on or it won't hold air, the plastic threads aren't fine enough.

I have been riding with these tubes since last August and I think they are brilliant. Air retention is good and zero punctures to date. Personally would recommend these.

I also prefer black stems ... I cut and use a small piece of black rubber tubing (it's actually shrink tubing in its original unshrunk state) over the stem ... makes it look better and also reduces rattles (as I don't use the rim stem tape / patch).

To make the valves black you can use matt black bike paint that you would use to hide damages on crancks and so on. Any bike shop will sell this. I paint annoying aluminium coloured bolts with it. Works well.

I've got 4 wheels in the garage with ride now tubes in and 3 are flat.... also had 2 duds on arrival. Aliexpress seller was no use but ride now directly sent out a couple of new ones.

These are a nice addition to the previous version. I've had the same pair of tubilitos for 2 years with one puncture between both tubes. Again, bright orange. We all want black tpu tubes 🖤

I really like mine except with the white plastic valve stems I managed to melt one using a little electric portable pump, even with a 10 cm tube between the pump and the valve. It didn't completely occlude the stem but it made it really hard to pump up and so I ended up just replacing the tubes. These ones with the metal valve stems will be better. So I just bought a few.

I've been a RideNow TPU tube covert for a couple of years now. Although I haven't had any real issues with leakage in the plastic valve stems I'm pleased to see they now have the metal valve stems. Having recently bought a few of the newly released Clik valve cores I realised how it was not practical to remove the original valve cores on the TPU tubes and install the Clik valves. Obviously I now need to buy a batch of these new tubes to be able to use the Clik valves. I'm waiting with interest to hear about your expriences with the Clik valves. Look forward to a forthcoming video review :)

The more robust valve stem is nice. But if you dont use sealant the removable valve core isn't very important.

I paint my stems with my daughter’s black nail varnish 😂, works a treat 👍🏻.

I never had any luck with RideNow/Cyclami/TPUs in general. A good 2 dozen failed miserably, but to the point: if pink stems are not to your liking, here's a tip: I covered them with black shrink-tube as used in electronics. As for the material itself: as Latex is meanwhile cheaper than chinese TPU I'll simply stick with latex; rolls better, easier to fix. Size of TPU though is a benefit. TPUs make valuable spares (you can bring 2 or 4 instead of only 1).

Hi, to cover the valve stem use heat shrink Ing black tube, only disadvantage is you have to put it on when the tube and tyre is installed, as it doesn't t fit through the wheel hole. At least on Hunt wheels
