Σύμφωνα με δημοσίευμα της ειδησεογραφικής ιστοσελίδας Πρώτο Θέμα, στο σημερινό Συμβούλιο Εξωτερικών Υποθέσεων της ΕΕ, οι υπουργοί Εξωτερικών της ΕΕ, καταδίκασαν ομοφώνως την απόφαση της Τουρκίας, να μετατρέψει την Αγία Σοφία από μουσείο σε τζαμί.
