A desktop computer is comprised of many diverse components. This video will identify each piece of hardware that makes up a computer. We will demonstrate how to open it up, take it apart and discuss the make up of the mother board, and then put it back together.

Thanks for the video. I am learning about computers to get into IT field. I just passed my CompTia Network Plus exam. My focus now is CompTia A+. Nice video. I will save this video for future reference.

Fun fact, anti-static bags actually carry a static charge on the outside of them, so it is suggested not to place any statically sensitive electronics on them, a good static free workplace to for your motherboard is a cardboard box such as the one it came in.

What's the film-like paper you had under the motherboard when you took it out? It looks familiar. Almost like the bag the hardware is kept in when you first take it out of the box. Is it to prevent any static from getting to the motherboard?

That is an interesting case, most computer case has card screws inside the motherboard compartment, this one place card screw in exterior space with a cover.

This video is in serious need of an update. In fact, it's potentially dangerous to a lay person trying to disassemble their computer. For example, most computers now have don't have legacy PCI slots anymore, and removing today's PCI cards requires unlatching a tab at the rear. Then there's the peripheral power connectors, SSDs, M.2 & NVME drives, etc. Perhaps this video can be archived into a 'history' playlist ?

VERY VERY GOOD video but

ONLY the inside of an antistatic bag is protected, placing a hardware device on top of the bag and not inside of the bag will not protect it. In fact, it is often more dangerous to place an electrostatic sensitive device on top of the bag.

as for the processor coming of the board with the heatsink when being removed, it is a common thing when removing these types of processors. There is not much space to twist the heatsink ontop of processor (depending on heatsink size and design)...
