The battle of scarif is one of the best in the whole franchise

I love how the first person to notice the AT-ACTs is the literal blind guy lmao.

I love how even the Empire’s Cargo walkers are still absolute death machines. Even if they’ve got weaker armor than normal AT-ATs

Even if they are not AT-ATs, it felt so satisfying seeing the Rebels decimate the walkers, especially after watching Empire strikes back.

I love the detail of the sand being kicked upward due to the sheer weight of the at-act. It's a very small detail but really gives the sense of weight and mass these walkers have. It's a very short scene, but still a nice attention to detail.

Those may have been ATATs but they’re the taller yet weaker and less heavily armed variant the All Terrain Armoured Cargo Transport.
You can tell which ones which by a few key details.
Height is a good example.
The ATAT stands at a full 20 meters with the legs fully extended while the ATACT stands at least 5 meters taller.
Weaponry is another good example.
The ATAT is equipped with 2 cheek mounted medium anti personnel blaster cannons and 2 two chin mounted heavy anti armour blaster cannons while the ATACT lacks the chin mounted weapons.
The ATACT is essentially the civilian variant of the ATAT as its armour is also weaker and more vulnerable than that of the ATAT.

By far the most believable SW battles in this movie.

Those are not AT-ATs, those are AT-ACTs (All Terrain Armored Cargo Transport).

love that scene where U Wing spreads wings and climb with X Wings

Despite the fact that, seeing the walkers is always really cool, especially in my personal opinion. There’s still the fact that technically speaking, these things are weapons of opportunity. And thus the rebel Pathfinders are essentially being overwhelmed by what are essentially giant U-Haul machines.
If I’m completely honest, I find it kind of dumb that the empire made cargo haulers that were even bigger than the combat units. I think a better option for cargo transport would be using some of the older walkers left over from the clone wars. Yes, they don’t fit with the doctrine of the empire. But that’s why you use them for transport and not combat. The ATOT in my opinion would be an ideal cargo hauler. Simply remove all of the seats for the troops and you have essentially a pick up truck with six legs instead of four wheels.
The old juggernauts would also be a great idea.

Nice!!! Back in 1980 (3 ABY), according to Luke Skywalker, the AT-AT's armor was "too strong for blasters", but over the years, the technology of blasters has improved to the point when blasters CAN overcome that armor!

If only they were that easy to destroy on Hoth
mac
They get taken out by a hand fired mounted gun? Really?! So these AT-AT "fighters" have tinfoil for armor
Steven-dcz
That's a different version which is a cargo one
MemphysCobbo
acutely their at-act all terrain cargo transport yes heheha
Boyszz
I’m confused why have a separate distinct Walker for cargo when the AT AT very clearly holds cargo as well?
alosim
Imperial walkers armor is too strong for blasters
animalbond
ok, atatc, whatever, but there is a cat gunner in the scene
gergelykorody
I thought Walker armour was too tough for blasters.

Swear Krenic is the most over the top cartoon bad guy in these movies. Does win anything? I’ve seen middle managers irl that were more threatening
