😁ASK DR. H — Custom Bleach Trays vs. Go Whitening Trays: what to know before getting started
✨ If you want professionally whiter teeth, using a product like Opalescence is a great way to start!
Our office offers two great options:
1. Custom Trays - custom sculpted reusable tray to fit your smile paired with a tube of bleach gel.
2. Go Whitening - ready-to-wear disposable trays that form to your smile.
❓There can be a lot of confusion when you first start using professional whitening products — what’s the difference, what does the number on the label mean? Let me break it down for you!
🔹Opalescence Go Whitening
- These ready-to-wear trays show the percentage of hydrogen peroxide right on the label, it comes in either 10 or 15%!
🔹Opalescence Bleach Gel
- The number you see on the label for the bleach gel shows the % of carbamide peroxide (which breaks down into hydrogen peroxide). This means that the % of hydrogen peroxide in the gel is about 1/3 of the number on the label.
For example, if you buy a gel that’s 45%, it contains 45% carbamide peroxide which will be about 15% hydrogen peroxide!
