I tried the Apple Vision Pro as a Developer - VS Code in VR!

So I tried Apple's new Virtual Reality Headset called the Apple Vision Pro. I decided to test what it would be like as a programmer to use it properly for creating web designs and coding inside of visual studio code!

I discovered it was a lot of fun, however it might not be what you expect if you're planning to use it as your workhorse device. While VR is still quite new, website design still feels better for me on a traditional monitor. There are still a lot of smarts that Apple have added in the hardware and software that makes the AVP a technological marvel!

Apple Vision Pro Website:

As a programmer, I tried being a developer and using the apple vision pro. Apple and the vision pro also known as the avp is a vr or virtual reality headset I tried coding and programming on. To code a website or do development on the AVP. The Apple Pro Vision technology is pretty interesting for coding in vr. VR coding or VR programming is not as fun as programming without vr. While the Apple Vision pro Coding experience is interesting, I wouldn't recommend using the apple vision pro programming day to day. Figma inside of VR was similar. While vscode in VR was also not as good.

I enjoy mine and use it a daily basis. many shortfalls, but for me the pros outweigh the cons.

you're not suppose to lift it by the padding, you're suppose to grab the unit.

Nice video, thanks! I was thinking, if I put on a full VR on this headset in my area while sitting in the cafe, would my food and drink still be there when I switch back to AR? 😊

Why didn't you make the screens larger than real life size? Your text readability would probably have been improved then, right?

The real use case is multiple monitor support, which is coming.

I found that I preferred Luna Display to Duet Display in terms of the touch interactions, and that it was cheaper considering Duet's subscription model. But having used the Vision Pro since February, I found that I never used it for work or productivity, because of the weight of the device and how my eyes get very strained after a while. My main use cases are taking photos and videos (it's an amazing time capsule for significant events like weddings, birthdays, etc.) and watching movies (which replaces my entire home theater and is great for flights).

Re the laptop thing, for VR productivity computing on the go, I keep thinking about something like a mac mini (battery powered), or really small form factor pc with wireless keyboard mouse, something small and wearable, --but not a laptop--. I just find it weird with VR the idea of tethering to a device like a laptop that already has a screen built into it, and then consuming that content on a virtual screen, when you are right next to it.

Um, the browser just needs to die. The fact that people are using a browser inside of a VR environment is ridiculous. We can't see how broken this whole experience is because technology is run by crappy advertising.
