As a die hard note user since the note 2 the 24 ultra is an easy winner for me especially now that they got rid of the stupid curved screen...been putting up with that since the note 7! The oppo is amazing and if they did a global version id probbly pick one up as well though. Great comparison Mike, very unbiased and straight to the main points. 👏

Excellent comparision video. I agree with your take on how the smartphones got almost good enough that now it all depends on UI or android skin for user experience. I myself have decided to purchase S24 Ultra not because of 7 years of security updates but because of the consistency in user experience.

Also, could you let me know what's the song that's played starting around 13 minutes during camera comparison.

Finally switched out my P40 Pro for an S24U as the pro was stuffed after some time in the sea late last year. Was strongly contemplating the x100 pro global, but with all the S24 pre order bonuses and EPP discounts there was less than £100 in it, and the S24, while weaker for stills, seems like and overall more rounded package.

May still chop to a 14Ultra or x100 ultra is they are compelling enough, but I suspect with a major camera update under the belt that the s24U is going to be a tough cookie to dethrone this year.

Loving your content! Living in America it's easy to lick Samsung but I just can't. I love what Vivo, Oppo and Honor are doing and even what OnePlus is now doing.

As a Current Oppo Find X5 Pro owner it's still an amazing Flagship phone 2 years on, I'm not knocking the S24 Ultra I do like it but I think the AI is slightly gimmicky with some of its features which eventually they're charging you for by the end of 2025, Samsung seem to play it safe with the design being the same slab as always, Same as Apple there's just no Cool Innovative designs anymore.
Oppo has at least settled their Pattent law suit with Nokia so there's hope they may come back into the UK but if Not then I guess I'll be buying the S24 Ultra if Oppo doesn't realise that they missing out on a chunk of the global market.
Plus I prefer super fast 80+ watt charging and a charger in the box. In Other News if Google allows HTC to get into Flagship Territory then I'll go back in that direction as HTC years ago was super amazing especially with their music internals.

Nice comparison. Just one thing. You do have a warranty from OPPO if you purchase the Find x7 ultra. There is a 12 month international warranty which is valid in the UK so you can go to Oppo's official service centres in the UK and avail of the warranty

I prefer an audio test to be done with podcasts or YouTube videos, not music. Some phones are loud in music but not watching movies or videos and we use our speakers mostly on videos and music with headphones

My S24U is going to be here anytime in the next few days and I'm sure I will love it, I'm a huge fan of OneUI after all. But purely on looks the Fond X7 ultra crushes the S24U! Of course part of that is the curved display which I will always prefer over a flat screen, but it's also the camera module. The only phone I've seen with a better looking camera module is the Honor Magic 6 pro. I laso love the way that OPPO does the leather and glass back. It just looks so sharp.

It's gonna be a toss between the Oppo and VIVO but I've been told their is gonna be a VIVO X100 Pro Plus in April which will be interesting so may wait until April. 😊

Great video and comparison! In my humble opinion, the Honor Magic 6 Pro might be the one to provide the best competition to the S24 Ultra this year keeping in mind the value for money. Curious to see if and how the AI features would be integrated.
