My first experience was terrible... the uni sushi was on a convaor belt at a sushi train restaurant. It had been sitting out for an hour or so before i had grabbed it. It tasted BAD. Like a rotten ocean taste that you couldn't get out of your mouth.

Luckily, i tried it fresh years later, and it was amazing.

My first experience eating uni, I was in Baltimore and it taste like a fish aquarium pet store place. That's the only way I can describe it. You know when you walk into a salt water aquarium pet store. There's that salty ocean smell. Now imagine that as a flavor

I strepped on it in Thailand, my first time out of the country, had no idea what it was, hard 2 walk for 3 days, then went to a local clinic and got antibiotics.... your experience seems great tho!

I ate it straight from the urchin two years ago in croatia
It was creamy, salty and had some kind of bitterness to it
But it was great as a snack 6 meters underwater

i was at the beach and tried it bcs i found one that was the right type and ate it. It wasn’t too bad

New Zealand has the best uni/kina. I grew up on them we probably eat the most uni/kina in the world. So good

My first experience wasn't the best, and unfortunately, I've not had the chance to try uni since that time. It was at a sushi restaurant some 80 miles from the west coast, which should've been my first red flag that this wasn't going to be a good idea. Got to the restaurant, ordered the Uni gunkan maki along with some other sushis, and it cane out some time later. It tasted like someone had literally taken a dump on my sushi. Dad tried it, he was there with me, and he remarked that the uni had gone bad and thats not at all how its supposed to taste, and reminded me not to let this first experience put me off of ever again trying it.

My first experience was as a kid. I don't remember exactly how old... but not much older than a toddler. I thought it tasted like the smell of a portapotty.

Got older and wanted to try it again. Didn't really like it. Kept trying it cause I wanted to convince myself I actually did like it (me w/ natto rn lol). Eventually, I discovered how good fresh uni is.

I can't remember when my first time was, but it's very popular here in Northern Spain, and I love it. :)

I grew up in New Zealand so one day my dad brought bucket of 'Kina' as we call it, home, cracked one open, dug it out the shell and had me try it. It was the best most delicious experience I've ever had😁😁 straight from the sea is the best. Apparently alot of Maoris eat them on toast!
