US presidential debate to see Donald Trump and Kamala Harris face off | BBC News

Kamala Harris and Donald Trump will debate for the first time in the 2024 US presidential election.

The Republican ex-president and the Democratic vice-president remain locked in a tight race, both nationally and in the swing states.

Voters in the US go to the polls on 5 November to elect their next president.

I watched the entire debate. Whilst Harris wasn't as inspiring or as strong as I felt that she could have been, Trump came across as a raving mad lunatic. He failed to deny his favouring of world dictators and added Viktor Orban to his list of admirers! Orban isn't a dictator, but he's well known as being a hardliner and more lenient towards Putin and Russia than any other European leader with the exception of Belarus' Lukashenko. Harris could have explained in a little more detail about her policies and plans, but Trump failed miserably to do so and all he could spout was the usual 'would have, could have, will do' rubbish without any reference whatsoever as to how he would do it. Whilst he didn't say it, his responses to the war in Ukraine clearly indicated that he has no intention whatsoever of supporting the Ukrainian Government and favours a deal that is to Russia's advantage. Harris came out on top, but only because Trump was his usual rambling, idiotic self suggesting that the Democrats would allow abortion in the 7th, 8th, 9th month of pregnancy and he said even after the birth. The man just lets his mouth run away with itself. He demonstrated himself to be just another geriatric has been.

The problem is when you keep telling people who to vote for - people get angry. It is a democracy, and Trump not performing well creates more negative news about him, more media saying it can’t be possible for him to win, more putting down people who could possibly vote for him… and guess what that does? It only makes people vote for him and tell you where to shove it.

Ive yet to watch the debate and not seen many clips watching the news this morining but the fact the left leaning pro democrat media is not showing many clips and only saying Kamala won would suggest to me that it wasnt as clear cut as they like to think.
