when it was announced in the press in Jan 84, it didn't even exist ! that may account for the limited take up

Nice video, Peter. Thank you. Pity the microdrives, but it could have been Sinclair way to the future (the inclusion of Digital Research GEM with Windows and Mouse, to compete with the Atari ST, a disk drive such as the one on the CPC 6128/Spectrum+3, and the upgrade, by 1987/88, to faster CPU, 3.5' FDD and more RAM, allowing it to inherit the Spectrum library through emulation and even maybe PC/XT, and then AT after the 68020/30, could have made Clive Sinclair on pair with Jobs and Musk (not only for some of us, but for the general public). Was not to be. But could been. We could have three alternatives today, besides Mac and PC: Sinclair (never losing track on Design), running some Linux-derived OS, as the Mac does.
