TENET | Time Inversion Explained!

Time is a recurring theme in Christopher Nolan's films. In Inception, five hours of real time accounts for fifty hours in a dream world; in Dunkirk, the story is told simultaneously through three different spans of time: a week on the beach, a day on the sea and an hour in the air; and in Memento, the viewer is repeatedly thrown ten minutes back in time in order to mimic the character's short-term memory loss.

And then with Tenet, well Nolan has said that its all about "ideas of time and how we experience it", but he means this more than just on a metaphorical level, with time inversion actually playing out in the real, physical world.

Can you explain the temporal pincer movement battle? What were they trying to achieve exactly by doing it?
