✨ Everything I Made in 2022 ✨ | sewing year review

Hello everyone and welcome to a new video!

I did one of these end of year reviews last year, and I personally found it really helpful to see everything I had sewed, embroidered, crocheted, knitted, etc, all together. I have a terrible memory and so I often end up thinking I have done nothing this year at all (exactly how I started when I sat down to fill out the spreadsheet), but having looked at some of the things I made this year, I feel a bit more accomplished! I think there was a good balance this year between big costumes that very rarely see the light of day and things I can wear now and then as part of my wardrobe.

Something I definitely want to work on for next year is to sew more from my stash, since I've collected several cuts of fabrics over the year for which I have projects in my head, but never get around to. I sew a lot on a whim, but now I want to steer those whims towards my stash. I am well excited for 2023 and more sewing adventures!

Please embrace being a Jack of all trades. The complete saying was originally “A jack of all trades is a master of none, but oftentimes better than a master of one.” I think the shorten version is a negative view but the saying in its entirety is very much a compliment.

"Only one crochet project" Yes, but it was an entire blanket! As a newish crocheter myself, I enjoyed seeing you branch out into the yarn arts. Loved all the garments as well, of course!

Made my Nerdy soul so happy with the graphs and pie charts!! Gave me a flash back of my graphs of how much milk I pumped for my first baby.

You should be very proud of what you accomplished this year. My favorite is the Pemberly dress and your pinafore you are wearing. Keep up the cozy and informative content.

You are amazing! I love your comment "its your project"! I really like all of your projects.
Other skills are great too. I call myself a jack of all trades, master at none. I have done or am doing the following crafts: basket making, crochet, knitting, spinning fiber into yarn, embroidery, sewing, some quilting and will be learning to weave on a loom. Would love to try pottery sometime too!! Yeah....keeps me out of trouble!

I relate with those repairs, we’ve been without gas for almost a month and have no idea when it’ll be back, they estimate 3 months because of multiple gas leaks in the apartments basement. Thankfully it only effects our stove and ability to cook at home not our hot water or heat. Anyway, your projects were so lovely this year and me having aight memory I should do it too.
Nice graphics~

You made some fabulous things this year!! I really love the thistle embroidered stomacher & green jacket!
And the construction sounds were no matter, because there's also construction happening outside my apartment, alas :(
I'm also very impressed by anyone who can get out this kind of list on time! I'm always at least a week late with my sewing "year in review" blog posts.

I love that shawl. I have a similar one as a work in progress myself that I look forward to wearing when it's done. They look so cozy, like a wearable hug.

That’s an amazing list. You have had a very creative year! Plus all the other wonderful things you accomplished this year. Love your charts and graphs!

I’m with you on forgetting what I’ve done and thinking I have accomplished nothing!! I’m also thinking of starting a crafting journal but first I’m cleaning and straightening my sewing room!!! It’s become a cluttered mess!

A jack of all trades is a master of none but oftentimes better than a master of one ;)
Keep going an learn as many crafts as you like. I think it is brilliant, that you add more skills bit by bit as you go 🌟

Having a two hour repair on an almost finished project sitting there for months waiting to be done? Collecting all of the skills and being average at best at all of them? Sounds awfully familiar... Did I leave the cover off the laptop camera again? We could be sisters in adequacy and procrastination!!!

Love the crochet, those colours are so you! I've crocheted countless blankets but actually following patterns, well... uh, I'm up to... three now. All VERY simple patterns and even then I screwed them all up a bunch before coming up with something adequiate. I made Sewstine's kefta pattern a few months after it came out (after much modification, as my bust size is 4 Mood sizes smaller than my Mood waist size and 4 Mood sizes larger than my Mood hip size), using grape purple boiled wool and a lining of blue bunny-print flannel (and I cut up a satin pillowcase for the sleeeve linings because even I'm not that cruel to myself), added additional wool and cotton twill interlining so it can be a winter coat, and my nod to the embroidery was... a line of chain stitch in rainbow cotton crochet yarn to keep the lining from bulging out the front. I did make a hat for it, but I kind of want to take the collar off and re-set it a bit shorter so it doesn't poke me in the cheeks when I sit in the car.

I think all your things are lovely, and all of them fit your figure beautifully. You know what looks good on you and how to change a pattern or garment to do just that, something I'm still trying to skill up, most of the time I still need an assisted dice roll :)
