There is a statement somewhere where EGW says something to the effect that, if the people all individually had the kind of experience with the Lord that they ought, there would be no need for her writings, ie the Holy Spirit would show each of us what He showed her. And we definitely need the Holy Spirit to explain things and help us to make correct inferences and interpretations. It was probably designed to be that way, so we need the Holy Spirit to perform His role in that way for us.

Nobody would say that the Word contains every explicit detail in explanation of itself. Just a quick example, when the Israelites are told not to shave their eyebrows (I think?) it doesn't then explain that this is a heathen practice related with their religious practices. But we can infer that, I think there is some historical understanding of this being the case.
We have been fine with commentators providing that kind of detail for a long time, some of it conjecture, some of it probably truly elucidated by the Holy Spirit.

We believe as Adventists that Ellen White is a 100% truly inspired biblical commentator. Her writings are inspired, and thus are, in a sense, on a level with the Bible. But obviously, the Bible is more essential than her writings. It is higher in that sense. You wouldn't say that someone was better off with Desire of Ages instead of the Gospels. If you had to choose one or other, you'd obviuosly choose the Gospels.

People also take issue with that fact that Ellen White is 'coming between' Christians and God by imposing her writings, and sort of taking away any discussion of meaning. Not true. The Word has many layers and applications EGW doesn't always cover all of them. We just know that what she says is definitely correct, whatever else may be true also (within reason of course, scripture being of no private interpretation).

If Paul added to the Scripture then Ellen White more. You guys can't just stand for the plain truth. Paul was canonical because he was generally accepted among the early Christians as an inspired apostle. Ellen White is not canonical because she is not accepted among the majority of Protestant Christians. This lack of acceptance does not change the fact that she was equally inspired and is equally authoritative with each and every prophet in the Bible.

We have to move beyond embarrassment for Ellen White. She is a prophet of God. If we had every letter and note that Paul had written it would surely be far more than the entire New Testament multiplied over many times. We don't have those documents. We do have thousands of articles and many books written by Ellen White.

If we fold on Ellen White then we will cease to be the biblical remnant.

We must stand in support of Ellen White no matter what critics say. That is exactly what Baruch and others had to do in the days of Jeremiah. His writings were burned and absolutely rejected by the king and spiritual leadership of his era. Ellen White is treated the same. Yet, it is God that speaks through her to the world.

What would have happened if Jeremiah's supporters had laid aside his writings? Could they have utilized other parts of Scripture then extant to support their beliefs? Perhaps. They could have pointed to warnings from Moses about sin and its consequences for the nation but Jeremiah spoke to the moment they were in. Ellen White's writings largely speak to the moments yet ahead of us. We cannot lay them aside. Popularity nor calumny can move us.

White not only added to the Bible, she copied from others and added it to the Bible.

What does she say about the city of Zoar (the city that Lot fled to) was it destroyed or not?

Did Abraham pass through the cut-up animals in the covenant God made in Genesis 15 or not?

Ellen White taught that Adam and Even wore "robes of light", whereas the Bible makes a point to tell us that they were "naked and unashamed".

EGW: *“The sinless pair wore no artificial garments; they were clothed with a covering of light and glory, such as the angels wear. So long as they lived in obedience to God, this robe of light* continued to enshroud them… The robe of light which had enshrouded them, now disappeared” (PP, pp. 45, 57, 1890).

EGW: *“The halo of glory, which God had given holy Adam, covering him as a garment, departed from him after his transgression* . The light of God’s glory could not cover disobedience and sin” (RH, July 28, 1874).

EGW: *“They had not been clothed, but were draped in light as were the heavenly angels* . This light which had enshrouded them departed. To relieve the sense of nakedness which they realized, their attention was directed to seek a covering for their forms; for how could they meet the eye of God and angels unclothed. ST January 23, 1887

THE BIBLE: Gen 2:25 *_"And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed"_*

I have no problem to the Great Controversy it's history and the second Coming of Our Lord Jesus Christ its Biblical in Revelation. But nobody questioning The Desire of Ages is it adding the Matthew, Mark, Luke and John in the Bible?

No Add-ons? Now how do you explain the hundreds of add-ons in the real Great Controversy of Mrs White (1870 Eddition). The book was quickly removed from circulation and replaced by the 11th Eddition of the GC in 1888.  Allow me to narrate at least 4 examples out of the hundreds of add-ons/contradictions I found:

'His life alone could be accepted of his Father as a ransom for man. Jesus also told them that they should have a part to act, to be with him, and at different times strengthen him. That he should take man’s fallen _nature, and his strength would not be even be equal to theirs'. P46. Come on Jesus' strength not even equal to the angels

'Methuselah, the grandfather of Noah, lived until the very year of the flood; and there were others who believed the preaching of

Noah, and aided him in building the ark, who

died before the flood of waters came upon the earth'. P70.2 (This is completely adding on, if not out rightly contradicting the Bible. Noah was at most 5 years old, according to the genealogy, when Methuselah died (Genesis 5-25-31)

[She's adding to the scripture] when you claim to Daniel 8:14 has anything to do with a cleansing of his sanctuary!!*( in heaven )..to this day you can't interpret Daniel. 8
