Texas A&M and Jimbo Fisher entered the 2022 College Football season with a ton of momentum coming off signing the top rated recruiting class in history. But lately things have taken a sharp turn downward as the Aggies are 3-4 and rumors of multiple suspensions from that true freshman class have circulated. On Late Kick Live Ep 320 Josh Pate discussed the current state of the Texas A&M football program and what Jimbo Fisher must to do fix things for tomorrow and the years to come. I can’t believe A&M almost upset App state this year.

Jimbo Fisher had similar issues at FSU. This is how he coaches and recruits. We've seen how this plays out. Its like a racecar with no brakes. If you can keep it straight its hard to beat but chances are its going off the rails at some point before the finish line.

Locker room problems, on a Jimbo Fisher team? I’m shocked.

Josh is the only guy I look forward to watching college football videos. Thank you, Josh, for your content.

When A&M started at #6 at the start of the season. I immediately thought, that is way too high considering they finished unranked last year. It was setting A&M up to be a disappointment, regardless if they just signed the highest recruiting class

These are unintended consequences of the NIL. Young men who are 4 and 5 star recruits coming out of highschool with their egos turned all the way up.

Locker room issues with Jimbo, and NIL problems with 18 year old spoiled kids. Problems... No way.. 🙄

I'm reminded of a certain Captain Edward Smith rearranging the deck chairs while shouting "Full speed ahead!" to his crew.

This is why I subscribed. I have grown weary of the comments of certain people who just have to get their licks in every week about A&M. One individual in particular, that has big ears & a face for radio, has been relentless. When I saw A&M was rated #6 @ the beginning of the year I thought, "too rich, too rich". The offensive line was going to be a project, quarterback was undecided, & we had just recruited a bunch of young men who were used to being the BMOC & weren't ready to be a member of a "team". Throw in a laundry list of injuries & you have a 3-4 record. I graduated from A&M in "74" & love it dearly. I wholeheartedly agree with Josh that A&M fans deserve better on Saturday. You can also be sure that they'll be there on Saturday supporting their team regardless

This is such a surprise, never has Fisher lost a locker room before! Oh wait.... NIL has nothing to do with this, it is all about Fisher. Same results at FSU in 2017 we are seeing at A&M, same coach, one has NIL, the other didnt.

As an Aggie who just graduated Josh is always on point about this program. Students deserve better. They deserve players who love the school as much as they do. It’s bigger than football at A&M. Everyone likes to make fun because we are different but it’s been different for over 100 years. Keep hating because we won’t change. (I’m also a cowboys fan so I’m used to be sad about my team) 😂😂

Excellent analysis and spot on! I’m a lifelong multi-generational Aggie and you’re right about Texas A&M recruiting in the old days. Jackie Sherrill turned out some outstanding teams with three-star recruits and JUCOs. They bought into the program, the school, and the culture.

You're right in that we do deserve better. 12th man watched a loss to App State and put 108K fans in seats the next week.

It's been like this since 1939.

Many people blame NIL for the kind of things we're seeing across college football, but I really believe it's the combination of the transfer portal AND NIL. There's no commitment anymore. In my opinion, there needs to be at least a two year commitment when a player signs a scholarship letter. Josh is nailing it with this video, BTW. I hope people in the NCAA will listen.

What Josh said about how you should recruit is exactly what Dabo did with Clemson and it seems like what Beamer is doing at South Carolina. The results can be seen in the buy-in and doing more with less, especially early on and in player development and special teams

In the game, it was clearly evident that some players were giving up on tackles and blocks. Just letting the other guy win.

Fantastic take on things. I'm a lifelong Aggie as was my dad and the rest of my family, it's hard to see the problems we're facing. Thanks for the thoughts. Gig 'em

As a Georgia fan, we're damn lucky to have a coach like Kirby Smart and the kind of staff that he's put together especially when you see what's going on at places like Texas A&M which appears to have everything in place but a competent coaching staff.
