I was 12 years old when River passed. My Mum and I watched My Own Private Idaho, she saw how beautiful and vulnerable he was, she really feels people and she could tell River had the weight of the world on his shoulders. She cried like she lost a son. I will never forget that, she was my mother and I felt her pain. Now, every now and then, I think about River and feel deep sadness in my heart. He still lives on in his movies and we are reminded how beautiful his soul is ❤️

I am about to turn 16. So yeah, I wasn’t born yet when River passed. But it just feels so indescribably painful to know that this wonderful, passionate, lovely human being no longer is. I really miss him even tho I’ve never met him and to be honest, I can’t describe it. I can’t help but think how many movies him and his brother Joaquin would’ve made together by now. He would’ve been a sensation to the film industry. I feel sad that his life was so hard and that God took him away from us way too soon.
But maybe God was running out of angels and he needed better ones. River Phoenix seems like the definition of an angel like person to me and I hope he‘s able to follow his passion to music even in the stars.
May he Rest in Peace.
