Mark Jarvis is passionate about catamaran design. As a life-long sailor, Mark has sailed on most, if not all, multihull brands in his sailing career. At Boat Shows particularly, he has many discussions with monohull or other non-catamaran/multihull sailors who have heard some untruths around multihull sailing. In this video, Mark addresses those top myths that he is asked about time after time.

Myths debunked in this video:

Catamarans are not ideal for offshore passages
A catamaran is not safe or could capsize
It's difficult to get multihulls to sail upwind
Multihulls are hard to berth
The shape of a multihull causes a lot of slamming into the water
Multihulls are expensive to berth

I’ve always felt that sailing on a monohull is like putting 5 people in a 2 person pup-tent, on a hill. A cat just seems more like a small flat (apartment) on the water. And as I want to liveaboard, cats make more sense.

This is a fantastic design that seems advanced even in comparison to the latest generation of catamarans. Are they still being produced?
