Protesters disrupt Antony Blinken's remarks on Israel and Ukraine aid

Protesters shouting "Cease-fire now!" and "Save the children of Gaza" repeatedly interrupted Secretary of State Antony Blinken's opening remarks at a Senate hearing Tuesday. The hearing was briefly halted as police cleared the room. (Oct. 31)

Looking at Blinken's empty eyes and the impassivity of the committee chair, I'm reminded of Hannah Arendt's phrase, "The banality of evil". Hatred dressed up in procedure, reason and expensive suits. The scruffy, noisy protestors sound crazy but they are the voices of truth and love here.
