I study stats. The percent of people who moved to Florida during the pandemic era because of DeSantis was incredibly low.

Republicans did register more voters; 46% of new Floridians who moved here registered as Republican, but Jim leaves out or doesn't know that while Dems only registered 23% of new voters, 29% of new Floridians registered as Independent.

Trump performed 14.5% worse in this primary than he did in 2020, and the majority of Republicans who didn't vote for him voted for Haley, and we're not so sure they're going to vote for Trump in November.

Now, let's take into consideration that Trump only won Florida by 3.3% in 2020, about 450, 000 votes, a "landslide" by Florida standards but not in reality.

If Independents swing slightly more for Biden, a portion of Haley/Christie (Christie picked up over 10, 000 votes in this primary) voters either stay home or go for Biden, and Democratic turnout is bolstered by Women's reproductive rights and recreational Marijuana being on the ballot (along with the scare of a country being led again by someone who says they want to be a dictator), suddenly that 3.3% doesn't seem so insurmountable. You have to also take into consideration that Democrats have been picking up wins in Florida recently that they weren't supposed to, I'm looking at the Mayoral election in Jacksonville and a couple of special elections recently.

The problem for Dems is that Biden isn't inspiring to his base the way Trump is to his, which could lead to a Charlie Crist scenario. The other hurdle is securing a larger portion of the Latin vote, which is the reason Trump won Florida in the past.

All this to say that while it's an uphill battle, there is a clear path to victory for Biden in Florida, and it's a lot more possible than anyone is noticing right now. Don't be surprised if there is a huge increase of money flooding into Florida as the election looms closer. If the Biden campaign smells blood in the water, they'll start to pounce, and likewise, if the Trump campaign starts to feel like they're losing their hold, they'll start dropping money here as well.
