a Nordiques jersey with retro Arizona colors would go so hard

"that team has some amazing fans..."

"some" is the revealing word in that statement.

Seems like a “when” more than in “if” relating to Coyotes relocation now. Feel horrible for their fans…horrible

I’m from Detroit and have lived in Arizona for 8 years now. I poked PLENTY of fun at the yotes even after moving here, but the team has really grown on me and they are definitely my second team. I was fully on the Matthews to AZ hype train, and am crushed that they’re likely gone. Players like Keller, Schmaltz, Guenther, obviously deserve better, but I also like to think about players like Fischer, Dvorak, Crouse, hell, even Vejmelka who have been grinding it out and cutting their teeth on these terrible teams playing these empty games, likely to have to pack it all up anyways and move to who knows where bc the organization could not get it done. Sad news for sure but I fully understand the concerns of people in Tempe bc that arena would have been a logistical (and traffic) nightmare

If the Coyotes do move, as much as I would love to see Quebec get a team again (even as an Avs fan I'd love to see the return of the Nordiques) I don't think it's gonna be anywhere in the East like Quebec, Atlanta or Halifax mainly cause I doubt teams like Detroit or Columbus would want to move back to the Western Conference and deal with the hassle traveling to play against Western teams more often again.

I can definitely see the new location be somewhere in that midwest range like Houston, Kansas City or even Milwaukee so there's no need to do any crazy realigning and the Coyotes or whatever they'll be called if they move can stay in the Central. Houston has my bet due to Toyota Center, it being a large US market and there being ownership out there who'll buy the Yotes and move them there

It's sad it got to this point. The development project was going to come at no taxpayer cost and would have given the Tempe area new life. Can't believe Meruelo let the Phoenix special interests just lie to everyone for months with no response.

As a Coyotes fan I really don't even know what to do. If anything right now just give us some space. We really are tired hearing about relocation to another place. We're not giving up hope.

I live in Salt Lake City so I'd be stoked if they move to Utah

Its Bettman were talking about. Tomorrow there will be a GoFundMe set up that he pledges to match dollar for dollar.
In all likelihood if they do relocated I gotta imagine Houston or they take a flier on a city without a team like they did Vegas, though I have no clue what would have a comparable market size off rip.

What I want: Quebec City because those fans deserve a second chance

Most realistic scenario: Houston. 4th largest city in America and has never had a franchise. + would give a great rivalry with Dallas

Bettman's pet project in Arizona appears to be ending.

Houston is most likely from what I understand. Houston Aeros would be really cool. the rivalry with Dallas would be nuts.
Another city that might be a possibility would be Kansas City? Kansas City Scouts would be cool!

Bring back the Nordiques. The Vidéotron Centre, a 18 250 seats arena, is ready for next season and the Nordiques will sell tickets like crazy. The Quebec Remparts sold 18250 tickets for game 5 of the QJMHL finals in 18 MINUTES a couple of days ago. That’s a hockey town right there.

Every time I watch the wings play there, its pretty comical the sea of red in the crowd and the loud cheering for the visiting team drowning out anything else.

The Millers (big money utah family) talked about bringing a hockey team to Utah. Could be a possible move depending on when it happens.

Would love to see them in Quebec, Halifax, Wisconsin and a couple of other areas

It hasn't ever worked out, but for A Couple Of Years. It's time to End It, as was the case in Atlanta, Both Times.

Given that the yotes were moved to the central and not the knights, it would likely be Houston or Salt Lake City, both have nba arenas if they could get sharing rights in one that would make for an easier decision. Personally i like Utah more as they hosted the winter olympics and can have a market for winter sports. But hard to argue that Houston could be a bigger market.
