THE REFINER'S FIRE // a spoken word.

Sometimes we go through seasons in the fire
Troubles and hardships and heartache and trials
And you may wonder in those seasons why the Lord isn't there
Why isn't He working when I feel such despair

But see often God is the one who leads us there
Not because He doesn't care
In fact, it's quite the contrary
He's keeping careful watch
It's just temporary

The fire exposes impurities, insecurities and immaturities
that no longer belong to your life
They require the refiner to rewire
all that does not serve a higher purpose in His sight

So rejoice when you feel like you've been placed in the furnace
For we know it builds perseverance and endurance
And though we know our seasons in the fire won't be easy
We come out carrying a new level of authority
New depths of strength and growth and humility
A new understanding of dependability

For what it produces in you will never grow old
The refiners fire only brings out pure GOLD.
