Here is a tip for when dealing with the beast. At the end of every charge the beast does he spends a few seconds recovering, this is the perfect opportunity to hit him (or her) with creapers. But make sure to not use too many because if you do the extra ones will just stand there and do nothing, you also need to time it perfectly but if you pull it off you can knock off up to around 8% of the beast's health.
