The fact that 1973 was “50 years ago” and not 30 is doing irreparable psychic damage to me.

They are far more comfortable than girdles.

Yep. Body suits, wrap skirts and lucite heeled slip on heels…the 70’s. 😊

Hi, 65 year old here. "Hip hugger" (low rise) jeans were in style back in the day, as was wearing tops tucked in. Regular tops would ride up and easily come untucked, whereas body suits didn't, hence their popularity.

College 1973. My bodysuit was a black sweater knit mock turtleneck with sleeves just above my elbow and I wore it a LOT! I mainly remember wearing it with a maxi skirt but, as others have said, it stayed perfectly in place with low-rise pants!

Wore body suits a lot in the 70’s with jeans that were low rider waists (barely above hip level.) It was a great way to keep everything from riding up and exposing a big patch of skin everytime you bent down. They didn’t just come in knit fabric, like t shirts. I remember having a long-sleeved white silk bodysuit that could be worn with dressy skirts.

I’m 73 and had a few body suits to wear with my low low rise hip hugger bell jeans!😉

I have never seen this girl look anything less than spectacularly attractive.

The pinching and wedgies when trying to snap them after the restroom. I stopped wearing them almost immediately back in the ‘70s

Saw some in Walmart today...brought back nightmares of the struggle of trying to snap them back in place 🤪😜

some body suits/leotards you stepped in through the neck. Very incomvenient to use the restroom, especially the long sleeve ones. Some snapped on the bottom like modern baby onesies, that was more convenient. I thought of them more like danskin, style associated with dancers.

I love Vintage Gabi, she is a very good role model for today's young girls

Bodysuits also made a comeback in the early 90s

When I wanted a bodysuit in the 90s, my mom told me about all her bodysuits from the 70s!

I still have a tie-dyed purple body suit from Dayton's from 1974

My mum says they used to be called Teddies when she wore them in the 80s.

Bodysuits came in spaghetti strap "ballet" style, plus all sorts of necklines and sleeve lengths. I (74) wore them all the time and have continued to do so. Now let's talk halters and tube tops. I wore a scarf pinned to a choker necklace in front and tied in the back. A few dollars then vs a few hundred now!

I was a teen in the 70's and my group hated body suits cause they made you look flat chested. Now in my 60's I wear one almost everyday. Nothing giggles now and that is a plus!
