Puttering around in the garden always sends me to the garden center!

I potter around the garden early in the morning and in the evening deadheading, watering, weeding and checking for pests every day. I change the slug traps in the flowerbeds and fertilise the containers once a week. The flowerbeds are mulched with homemade compost every March and two handfuls of fish blood and bone are added around each plant and they don't get anything else until the following March. My wife has no interest in gardening but I think she likes the way the garden has evolved over the years.

Puttering days are always so much fun and satisfying. I also use the drip trays during the hottest times it helps with not having to water the potted plants twice a day. Have a fab trip to AK can’t wait to hear about it when you get back. My son said the weather has been awesome. In the 60’s & 70’s.

After watching you journal; I decided to start a garden journal. It went OK for awhile. However, instead of planning what I'm going to do I found myself starting out with the original task and then it turned into "puttering "😅 So my journal has ended up being a synopsis of what I actually ended up doing with no particular direction. I guess that's a more enjoyable and relaxing way for me to garden, less restrictive. It's sort of funny in that I have a very small garden area and yet can spend almost all day doing something The really interesting thing about that is that at the end of the day, no one but myself can even notice a difference 😂! Enjoy your time away!

I complete 5his task last week, putting liners under my plants to catch the water that comes straight out the pots. Sometimes I water my plants by putting water in the liners. Love it!

I was also not thrilled with my Shasta daisies until I added 2 Daisy Mae from PW. They’re so gorgeous they almost don’t look real.

Puttering totally describes my style. I'm ADD and easily get distracted. Yesterday I did multiple different garden tasks none of which I originally intended to do! Eventually it will all get done. 😊

I putter too, its the best way to garden. I seeded so many shasta daisies this spring, I can't wait to see them in bloom next year.

Fun to watch you Putter. ☺️ Good information as you tend to the plants.

I use 5 gal bucket lids under my containers to help with water retention. Some of them have a lip. But if it rains a lot, the excess can spill over so it will not “drown”. Or I collect plates from yard sales or thrift stores for this purpose. Enjoyed this video. Have a great vacay.

Getting ready for vacation during the summer is a new adventure for me. I, too, did some deadheading, but I'm sad I'm going to miss a lot of blooms that would otherwise not bloom until July (such an early blooming year). I have a gladiolus in bloom and quite a few right behind. I'm kind of hoping staying on the plant will let some blooms last until we're back.
The cleanup, however, was quite satisfying!

Enjoyed your puttering Amanda! I was on pins and needles wondering if you put the drip back in the rose pot. Ha! I thought I had missed it, but I was worried for that rose. So glad you put that in the video for my peace of mind. LOL. Enjoy your

Always enjoy your puttering videos. Good idea about the liners as I have some in my garage (somewhere?) and will use them. I normally reserve them for my inside house plants.

I really love your Shasta daisies! They’re such a beautiful color. I finally got my garden planted up here in NW Montana. Then this last weekend we had frost and snow. Absolutely ridiculous weather. Luckily, my plants were covered so I didn’t lose any.

Love the random puttering days in the garden. 🪴 Especially in the summer when it’s so hot. All I can do is go out and get a little done and come back indoors.

Hi!
Which emitter you put on your Shasta Daisy? 0.5, 1 or 2 gph? Mine are not doing very well. Thanks in advance.
I love your videos! ❤
