North Wind's Masonry

And then the weather turned... We drove 8 hrs to do some fun winter camping around the Malheur Forest in East Oregon. Ironically it was the winter that brought an abrupt end to the fun. The wind driving frigid snow horizontally into our face made it impossible to do any hiking after the first day. SEVERE WINTER STORM WARNING was broadcast and picked up on it because we were paying attention to the forecast every couple hours.

We knew there would be snow based on the forecast, but not a storm like this. After the first night, the winter storm forced us to drive out, off the unmaintained back roads, while we still could before we got snowed in. And so in the morning during a fortunate break in weather, we quickly broke camp and navigated our way out.

The snow had covered the tracks of the wooded trail which made it hard to see and drive on the path. At times we had to stop and walk ahead to see which way to go being careful not to get the car in a bad spot. The Toyota 4Runner had a new set of off-road tires which turned out to be a good investment.

At least we got one good day of camping! And this video has some footage from that first good day. Not much video because I planned on several more days of footage and figured I was conserving video space on that first day not knowing the trip was going to be cut short.

this was a great video. enjoyed it a lot. been watching a lot of elk hunting videos on my amazon prime--they hunt about anything on it-never would of thought there was that much content about hunting on there.
anyways maybe ur neighbor there had his cows attacked by mountain lion or someething, so he brought a hunter to see if he could find it-IDK for sure-just thinking why he crossed over to ur side of the fence.

or maybe he was hungry and wanted some deer meat-ha! take care--can't wait to see ur garden, fruit trees and them grapes too. take care
