I live on the coast where this occurred. Power was out for a few hours and some broken windows, light objects strewn like at grocery stores and cracks in walls but otherwise no major damage to anything. No fires, No gas leaks, No injuries, no tsunami. 6 hours later everything is pretty much back to normal.

Living in Austin with my daughter in San Francisco texting about back to back Tsunami warnings was just beyond something I thought I’d have to worry about. Thank God it was canceled 🙏🏻🫶🏻

I moved out of California because I was terrified of being buried live in an earthquake or drowning in the tsunami occurring afterwards. I wish my more stout-hearted friends in California good luck!

This happened about 3 hrs ago. I was at Doran beach in Bodega crabbing. We split. - got on higher ground & in the 30 minutes I drove hm it was cancelled. Got word from a friend in Mckinnleyville right near the epicenter of an apparent 7.0 about 30 miles due west offshore. She had no damage from quake. Assuming no tsunami up there.

We had lots of aftershocks for 2 weeks after the Loma Prieta earthquake in 1989

I lived in Northern California for a few years, best place in the world for weather, I loved it, but I'm glad I wasn't there for a 7 0 earthquake. I hope everyone is safe and OK.

I wonder how many people's crash detector apps on their phones went off when the earthquake hit. Car insurance companies calling, "Are you ok?" "Yeah, we're fine, just another quke here in earthquakeville!"
