If your gym doesn't have a hack squat machine, there's a good chance it also doesn't have a Smith machine. Just use a landmine or jam a bar into a corner with some kind of restrictive item (stop it from moving around), load one end with plates, use the plates as leverage against your back, place your feet in front and start squatting.

You can also jam a barbell into a corner with a folded towel on the end of it, load up one side with plates and use the plates as a back support! I don't have a hack squat machine at home where I usually work out so thats how i do it!

Home gym. I strap a skateboard to my back, grab some 45 dumbbells and lean against the wall. Lights my quads on fire.

For my peeps with Retroversion in the hips:
Heels together, knees outward, feet angled.
Will get you a sick vastus medialis pump if done right

Can do a front squat to help isolate your quads but not as much stability as a regular squat or a smith machine squat

Because of Chris bumstead I’m in love with smith machine squats, a good amount of weight with some depth and good tempo does wonders by its self
