In what could have been an amazing pitchers duel, it didn't really live up to the hype. Luis Severino continued his struggles, and only lasted 4 innings, giving up 7 hits and 4 earned. DeGrom raised his ERA tonight, but still only gave up 2 earned runs on the night in 6.2 innings. That just goes to show how dominant he has been this season. The Mets homered 5 times on the night, and while the Yankees tried to make it interesting in the 8th on a Miguel Andujar 2-run homerun to make it a 2-run ballgame, the Mets added an insurance run in the 9th, and held on for the 8-5 win.

The Yankees pitching isn’t dominate. The Yankees better fix their starting pitching problem, otherwise, they won’t make the wildcard for the playoff

Yankees need to concentrate on the wild card now. This is all they have: After this, being home at Yankee Stadium, scoring five runs against the Mets, and deGrom which is miraculous, then to have eight runs pounded against them by a team which usually cannot hit nor score, it's time to reestablish their goal for this season. Obviously, Severino is hurt, and his severing his opportunity to heal this team, but is not telling anybody. His slump and precipitous drop off in effectiveness contributes to much consternation and concern. I guarantee, in the next few days, he will be on the DL. I hope not, I bid him well, but with the evidence and deduction, I cannot be too far off.

LoL the Met fans were hyped at the stadium. Poor fans, this was their World Series. The closest any Met fans get to experiencing a playoff atmosphere this year. Congrats Mets, you won YOUR personal World Series. Look how much the Mets did just for this 1 win tho lmao.. pushed Degrom up 1 start just so he faces the Yankees..bitter much? Then once u have a 4 run lead you still aren't sure about yourselves so u leave Degrom in for 1 more. I was at the game. Too bad the Mets dont play this hard against anyone else. It was just hilarious how hyped Met fans were tho. As if you aren't 16 games under .500. Yankees have been losing to garbage teams all year tho so no surprise here. Hopefully once Judge and Sanchez get back we can start playing with a bit more passion. Gotta respect the Mets fans for their passion at least. I'd have a hard time being that passionate about such horrible team.

Yankees manager has proven to be a enigma, he cant jump start his team . The yankees seem to be going threw the motions, i blaime the front office for continuing the homerun or nothing philosophy. The redsox have make more contact and push the runners over ; unpopular but effective baseball hence the best record in baseball.
