LIFE IN THE UK TEST: Tips to Pass + Practice Questions + My Experience | American Abroad in 2021

I have now been living in London for 5 years. As an American Abroad, after 5 years of living in the UK, you can apply for your Indefinite Leave to Remain visa aka the ILR. This year I have decided to apply for my ILR application. A part of the ILR application is to successfully take and pass the life in the UK test. This. is a test that is made up to test your knowledge of British History, Pop Culture, and overall life in the UK, and I would like to share my experience on taking the LIFE IN THE UK TEST. Watch the video to know more about the test, some personal study tips, and my personal experience during the day of the test. Are you taking the Life in the UK Test? This video is a practice test, to help you prepare and tips and tricks on how to study for the test. I passed my first time. I took my test and if you follow my tips and practice questions in the video you will pass too! This video is for anyone who has lived in the UK for 5 years and is looking to apply for ILR or British citizenship. The test is made to test your knowledge as a British resident & your English language skills. It's a computer-based test. It is made up of 24 questions. You need to pass with 75% right or at least 18 questions. After you get 18 questions right the test never tells you which ones you got wrong and how many you got right. The exam costs 50£ per each time, hopefully, you only need to take it 1 time, but once you pass it that is it you can use it for your ILR visa but also you British citizenship application

Hi Anika, have stumbled upon your video over a month ago: you helped me big time. Yesterday I passed my test, after a couple of months of preparation. Thank you for the video and the extremely helpful links to those sites where one can prepare to practice on the tests. Thanks to your video I knew how the whole procedure was going to be, so it wasn't an entire surprise when they body checked and scanned me. It's a little bit unfortunate that because of dishonest people, we honest ones who actually have studied had to go through such procedure about an exam, but in the end what matters truly is to pass. And I did, so I wanted to say a heartfelt thank you. Now on to the next hurdle, as my application is not an easy one. Thank you very much, and take care.

Thank you so much for the tips. But i want to correct you in the first common question you shared. You said the lake windermere is the largest expanses of fresh water, which is incorrect. It is actually loch lomond in the west of Scotland.

I passed my test today, I don't want to worry anyone but it was super difficult I honestly thought I've failed until i got that passed email, although I studied the elearning questions are very random for example, I know when did thatcher joined the party, how long she was PM but they had to ask me who the h*ll was the PM after her??!
They didn't ask me about the beatles but asked about a specific singer in the 60s!! Also no one question about the million wars and its dates I memories 😡

the largest is loch lomond not windemere. windemere is the largest within the lake district, but It's clearly written on the guide, that Loch Lomod is the greatest expanse of fresh water in mainland Britain.
