This is lazy journalism. You are reporting on a company, at least interview 1 person from the company to give his or her opinion on the subject ffs. Instead all we get is your thought that has no depth whatsoever.

When she said "cheeky cigarette", I started laughing so hard. This report can't be taken seriously. xD

Stop nitpicking. Focus on the broader picture because if you obviously knew everything, then that's good for you. You also don't get permission to talk to anyone unless they allow it. If this dude was the guy they sent to talk, then that is how Tencent wanted it. You who have lived in China should know that the Chinese like to present a good image and why they didn't choose Chinese people to talk to FT is their business. Anyone who has lived in China or understands China (I lived in Shenzhen for 5 years and saw the Tencent building being built, among others, over the years) know that what you see is what was planned. You can't just carry a camera willy-nilly on the Tencent campus or any other campus really because they have cameras everywhere. You'd have security on your butt in no time so this was totally approved by Tencent. They believed that having western folks, from western media, break down an aspect of the Tencent company and building, would be best. Why they think so is for you to decide. Calm down about the minor facts or errors that were made and appreciate the building itself you trolls.

This journalist, Louise Lucas, seems to embody the most grotesque caricature of a Briton, belittling herself and reducing her interviewee to mere objectification. From my well-founded perspective, she lacks even the most fundamental qualifications to be featured in this report. What an absolute underdog!

I am actually pleased that there weren't any fear mongering pseudoscience angel to this piece. I have a very low expectation from the economist and ft when it comes to developing world and those countries that are thriving for progress.

Of course - 02:17 got to threw in a b-role to insinuate the stark contrast between the office hq and the local town...
